From grasping to understanding
"Understanding" - what does that mean for child development?
Most often, “to comprehend” is used in the sense of understanding something or a context.
But this word also includes "feel, touch, check by touch" - i.e. grasping or touching with your hands!
Before children can grasp something with their mind, they should be able to do enough with their hands.
But what does that mean in practice?
Games that promote placement, feeling, active matching, recognizing quantities and shapes should be "understood" in great detail!
We attach great importance to this at Schmetterline. Our wooden puzzles are developed with all the care and love to best promote child development!
All the best,
Your Schmetterline team
