What do you actually do with your children in December, before and during Christmas?
We keep getting asked the question: what do you actually do with your children in December, in the run-up to Christmas and before Christmas?
.
Since we bring up our children very openly and want them to learn to think freely, we try not to impose narrow-minded thought patterns on them that they cannot understand with their own logic.
.
This also includes respect for others who think differently, but above all the courage to stand by what you observe, experience and logically combine.
.
So what do we do specifically?
.
One thing is remembering and another is planning.
We remember with the children what happened throughout the year, what they experienced, what was important to them, what they achieved and what they can learn from it - both from the successes and from the failures. According to the motto: Either you achieve something or you learn. There really isn't anything else.
.
Experiencing a review of the year together can be something very beautiful that evokes a lot of gratitude and joy.
.
The second is to plan for the next year: What do we want to experience as a family, what does everyone want to achieve for themselves, what are our goals? Defining and aligning your own and shared goals can create great conversations that I look forward to every year.
.
And what are you doing in December?
.
All the best,
Yours, Annette von Schmetterline
